Required Technical/ Functional Competencies
Primary Focus (Must-Have):
Palo Alto SASE / Prisma Access / GlobalProtect
Incident investigation & resolution
Log analysis (Prisma, firewalls, Sentinel)
Policy review, optimization, and cleanup
Automation to improve troubleshooting efficiency (scripts, AI/automation ideas)
Secondary / Learnable Skill:
CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager (EPM)
Policy creation for least-privilege access
End-user engagement to define requirements
Automation of elevated privilege workflows
Key insight: Someone strong in Palo Alto SASE with the ability to learn CyberArk EPM is preferred; expecting expertise in both upfront is unrealistic.
Incident Management Expectations
Primary responsibility: Assist and lead incident resolution
Access:
Can make changes within Palo Alto SASE
Cannot directly change firewalls—must coordinate via tickets
Incident volume:
~ 6–10 incidents/day max, primarily during APAC hours
Recent example:
Global outage impacting Australia & India occurred during US late night
Highlighted need for time-zone-aligned coverage.
Upskill India infrastructure team on:
Palo Alto SASE platform concepts
Remote networks, tunnels, service connections
Improve and streamline:
Security rules in SASE
Policies in CyberArk EPM
Identify and implement automation opportunities
