Role Overview

 

Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Support Lead to manage our Tier 1 applications/L2 support team, ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our Data & Analytics infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, Databricks, SAP (S/4HANA, BDC, Datasphere, SAC), and Power BI, combined with strong leadership skills to manage a global 24/7 support model. This position plays a key role in maintaining service excellence, driving operational improvements, and mentoring junior engineers.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of L2 Technical Support Engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Manage the 24/7 global support model, including shift scheduling, on-call rotations, and seamless handovers.
  • Establish and enforce standard operating procedures for troubleshooting, incident resolution, and escalation.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and SLAs, ensuring adherence to service commitments.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues beyond L2 scope.

 

Technical Expertise & Incident Resolution

  • Oversee diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues across  Clients Data Platforms stack.
  • Provide advanced support for Microsoft Azure services (data processing, monitoring pipelines, storage, networking).
  • Troubleshoot and optimize Databricks environments, clusters, and connectivity.
  • Address support tickets related to SAP S/4HANA/BDC, SAP Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Ensure timely resolution of Power BI issues (data refresh failures, gateway configuration, performance tuning).
  • Collaborate with internal Development, Engineering, and Operations teams for root cause analysis and permanent fixes.

 

Recruitment & Development

  • Drive recruitment of new L2 Technical Support Engineers with expertise in Clients technology stack.
  • Develop onboarding and continuous training programs to maintain high technical proficiency.
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend training and certification paths for team members.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 6+ years in technical support roles, with 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven experience managing global 24/7 support operations and meeting demanding SLAs.

 

Deep technical proficiency in:

  • Cloud Computing: Microsoft Azure (VMs, Storage, Networking, ADF)
  • Data Lakehouse: Databricks administration and troubleshooting
  • SAP Ecosystem: S/4HANA/BDC, Datasphere, SAC
  • Business Intelligence: Power BI (Service & Desktop)
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and ITIL practices.

 

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator/Data Engineer
  • Databricks Certified Professional
  • SAP certifications (S/4HANA, Datasphere, SAC)
