Job Description: Senior SAP IMWM Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP IMWM Consultant with strong expertise in Inventory Management (IM) and Warehouse Management (WM) to lead design, implementation, and support initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, drive solution architecture, and ensure efficient logistics and warehouse operations within SAP.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Implementation

• Lead end-to-end implementation of SAP IM & WM modules (including customization and configuration).
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Design scalable warehouse and inventory processes aligned with business objectives.
• Configure:
  • Inventory Management (IM): Goods movements, valuation, stock types
  • Warehouse Management (WM): Putaway, picking, storage types/sections, transfer orders

Business Process Expertise

• Optimize warehouse processes such as:
  • Inbound/outbound logistics
  • Stock transfer & replenishment
  • Cycle counting / physical inventory
• Support integration with:
  • MM (Materials Management)
  • SD (Sales and Distribution)
  • PP (Production Planning)

Project & Delivery

• Lead SAP IMWM workstreams in S/4HANA or ECC projects.
• Conduct workshops, blueprinting, and gap analysis.
• Drive system testing (Unit, Integration, UAT) and deployment activities.

Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provide L3 production support and incident resolution.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and compliance standards.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and external vendors.
• Mentor junior consultants and provide technical guidance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in:
  • SAP IM (Inventory Management)
  • SAP WM (Warehouse Management)
• Expertise in configuration of:
  • Storage bins, strategies (putaway/picking)
  • Movement types, transfer requirements/orders
• Experience in S/4HANA or ECC implementations
• Knowledge of integration with other SAP modules (MM, SD, PP)

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) is a plus
• Experience with:
  • RF Framework / Mobile solutions
  • Batch management & handling units
  • Interfaces (IDocs, BAPI integrations)

Experience

• 8–12+ years of SAP experience, with at least 5+ years in IM/WM
• Minimum 2–3 full lifecycle implementations
• Experience in global or multi-site warehouse environments

Soft Skills

• Ability to lead teams and drive project deliverables
• Adaptability in fast-paced project environments

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, or related field
• SAP certification in MM/WM or S/4HANA (preferred)
