Job Description:

 

The Solution Architect, D&T, HCM ABAP possesses in-depth knowledge and experience to work autonomously. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of SAP HCM ABAP Applications.  The role is proficient in the areas of SAP HCM ABAP development, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Working in a global environment, this role has a hands-on approach capable of working across teams and time zones. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possesses good understanding of overall vision, business needs and the solution architecture for SAP applications.  Uses this in-depth knowledge to solve reasonably complex problems.
  • Utilizes knowledge of best practices and acts as a SME to provide the technical solution design.
  • Works closely with the process team to understand the business requirements, review the functional specs, develop technical specs, build the application, unit test the application and support the process team during integration testing.
  • Assist in Designs and builds applications with best practices in mind.
  • Investigates and corrects production issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree or equivalent experience 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the areas specified under Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • This role must have good experience in ABAP HR, OO programming, HR workflows and extensions, forms, ALV Reports, Interfaces & Enhancements
  • Knowledge of OData and CDS View enhancements for is highly preferred. 
  • Should possess basic understanding of HCM functional aspects like personnel and organizational management
  • Experience in Agile development methodology for projects and enhancements is preferred. 
  • Experience gathering requirements and providing technical solution design.
  • experience in ABAP HR modules
  • knowledge of programming using HR LDB
  • Experience in HR Workflows & Extensions
  • HR Standard BAPIs
  • HR WebDynpro development
  • Experience with OData and CDS View enhancements for HR Fiori 2.0 and HANA
  • ABAP OO skills is a must
  • knowledge of ABAP development workbench, Dictionary, Workflows, SAPForms, BAPI's, Enhancement Framework, RFC’s, BADI’s, IDOC, ALE and ABAP OBJECTS, IDoc Queue handling, ABAP Proxy Framework, Change document framework, Conversions and Data load methods, SPAU, SPDD and post upgrade activities, Open-SQL performance tuning
  • Must have excellent analytical, logical problem solving and technological skills.
  • Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency. 
  • Aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description 
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all times.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of SAP business processes 
  • Experience working with ABAP 7.4 > versions 

 

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • 10% of travel requirement
  • Occasional on-call work required
