Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Process Consultant to design, standardize, and optimize SOPs across insurance operations such as policy servicing, underwriting, claims, and shared services

The role requires strong expertise in process modeling, operational excellence, governance, and digital transformation initiatives

The ideal candidate should be able to represent processes using multiple modeling techniques and recommend the right representation based on process complexity and lifecycle stage

Experience:

  • 8–12+ years in Process Consulting / Business Analysis / Process Excellence
  • Strong experience in Insurance Operations (Claims, Policy Servicing, Underwriting, Back-office Ops)
  • Hands-on experience with multiple process modelling techniques
  • Proven experience with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Strong SOP development and governance experience
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and documentation capabilities

Qualification:

  • Bachelor in Engineering/ B.E /B. Tech, MBA or required equivalent. Master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory
  • Certification in Insurance (AINS/LOMA/CPCU), Green/Black Belt in Six Sigma is an added advantage

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Process Design & SOP Development
  • Design and standardize end-to-end SOPs across insurance operations
  • Develop layered process documentation aligned to operational and audit requirements
  • Define current state, future state, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop business cases, ROI analysis, and impact assessments
  • Collaborate with SMEs, underwriters, claims teams, and operations to gather and validate business requirements for automation initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to insurance (e.g., IRDAI guidelines, audit protocols)
  • Monitor automation performance KPIs, track benefits realization, and support continuous improvement
  • Support data-driven decision-making by analyzing transaction volumes, processing times, exception patterns, etc.
  • Support creation of Automation PDDs (Process Design Documents) and contribute to SDDs (Solution Design Documents)
  • Ensure SOPs are scalable, practical, and compliant
  • Process Modeling & Representation
  • Create process documentation using multiple techniques including:
    • SIPOC
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
    • Process Maps / Flowcharts
    • Cross-functional (Swimlane) diagrams
    • BPMN
    • Decision Flow / Directed Graph models
  • Recommend appropriate representation based on discovery, design, automation, or governance needs
  • Operational Excellence & Transformation
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities
  • Contribute to digital transformation and workflow optimization programs
  • Define controls, approvals, and segregation of duties
  • Ensure SOPs are audit-ready and aligned with regulatory expectations
  • Support internal audit and risk reviews
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Conduct process workshops with business, operations, IT, and compliance teams
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment
  • Translate business requirements into structured process frameworks

  • Excellent consultative, listening, communication skills to lead, facilitate, and drive individual and group meetings
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills are detail-oriented, and able to understand complex customer needs and translate them into user stories with measurable acceptance criteria
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact, influence, and negotiate effectively with all levels of management and peers
