Sr. Software Engineer - LabVantage LIMS Job

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance task on the LabVantage LIMS
  • Make configuration changes, develop new reports and develop new features as needed 
  • Participate in application support which includes coordinating support with the software vendors as needed.
  • Maintain systems in a compliant environment to control costs, reduce risks and improve productivity
  • Collaborate with Lab Operations to ensure system needs within Analytical Services are communicated
  • Assist in project-based implementation activities in support of infrastructure at all site laboratories globally to support the roll out of major key initiatives for lab automation and compliance
  • Address system issues and requests in the Jira Ticketing system and development requests identified within Azure DevOps
  • Participate in Bi-Weekly sprints maintaining User Stories and Tasks to client Development standards
  • Ensure that new systems and software are properly integrated with existing processes and capabilities
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, Laboratory systems or a Scientific field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience 

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of LabVantage (LIMS), Jasper Reporting Platform and new feature deployment a must
  • Experience working in cGMP compliant Analytical Lab with knowledge of Part 11 compliance and validation a must.   
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, LabVantage SAP RFC Interface, JBoss Web Server and Microsoft Application Development Tools preferred 
  • Ability to work with staff, peers, and others in a fast-paced, team-oriented, cross functional, multi-cultural environment to accomplish established goals and objectives as well as identify and resolve problems. 
  • Shows initiative and ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Job Description:



As part of the Digital and Transformation (D&T) team, the Lab Information Management System(LIMS) developer is responsible for configuration, maintenance, report development and new feature development on clients LabVantage (LIMS).  The LIMS developer will work closely with other members of the D&T, QA, Metrology and Lab Operations to ensure these systems meet the needs defined by Global Analytical Services which include maintaining cGMP compliance.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Sedentary - exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
