Job description:

Job Summary

The Quality organization is seeking a skilled Power BI Data Analyst with 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining advanced business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power Query, DAX, Microsoft Fabric, and complex dashboard design, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable and high-performance data models and visualizations.

This role requires both technical depth and business acumen to support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Power BI Development

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced Power BI reports and dashboards
• Build complex, interactive dashboards tailored to executive and operational audiences
• Optimize report performance and ensure scalability across enterprise datasets
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and data governance best practices

Data Modeling & Transformation

• Develop and maintain robust semantic data models with large datasets (millions of rows)
• Perform data transformation and cleansing using Power Query (M language)
• Design efficient star and snowflake schemas
• Manage relationships, calculated columns, and measures using DAX

DAX & Advanced Analytics

• Write complex DAX calculations
• Troubleshoot and improve inefficient DAX expressions

Microsoft Fabric Integration

• Work with Microsoft Fabric components
• Integrate Power BI with Fabric data architecture

Dashboard & UX Design

• Design enterprise-grade dashboards with:
• Advanced drill-through and drill-down functionality
• Bookmarks and dynamic navigation
• Custom visuals when required
• Create executive-ready visualizations that communicate insights clearly

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Gather and document reporting requirements from business users
• Communicate and engage with stakeholders
• Translate business KPIs into technical BI solutions
• Provide user training and support
• Maintain documentation for reports and data models

Additional Responsibilities

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or other related fields required
• Master's Degree Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or other related fields preferred

Work Experience

3–4 years of hands-on Power BI development experience

Strong proficiency in:

• Experience designing complex dashboards for enterprise use
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to effectively communicate and comprehend complex technical and business concepts. 
• Use written and oral communication skills to translate business requirements into technical BI solutions.
• Read and interpret data, information, technical documentation, and business requirements.
• Maintain the ability to work well with others in a variety of cross-functional and global team environments.
• Must be able to multi-task, work under time constraints, problem solve, and prioritize competing reporting and analytics initiatives.
• Ability to make independent and sound technical judgments related to data modeling, report performance, and dashboard design.
• Observe and interpret data trends, analyze complex datasets, and develop actionable insights.
• Adaptable to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected business priorities.
• Maintain high attention to detail, data accuracy, and overall quality of reporting outputs
• Able to be aware of and comply with all relevant SOPs, data governance standards, IT policies, and Company procedures as they relate to this position.
