Job Description: SAP BASIS & SAP BTP Consultant (7–10 Years’ Experience)

Position Title: Senior SAP Basis & SAP BTP Consultant

Role Overview

The Senior SAP BASIS & BTP Consultant will be responsible for administration, operations, and optimization of SAP systems across on‑premise, cloud, and hybrid landscapes. The role includes supporting installations, upgrades, performance tuning, and delivering cloud extensions and integrations on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The consultant will work across cross-functional teams to ensure availability, reliability, and security of SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP BASIS Administration

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, Solution Manager, GRC, etc.)
• Perform system refreshes, kernel upgrades, support pack application, and Enhancement Pack updates
• HANA database administration, backup/recovery, log management, and performance tuning
• Manage SAP ABAP & Java stack performance and troubleshooting
• Handle OS/DB migrations and SAP S/4HANA conversion activities
• Job scheduling, spool management, system health monitoring, and RCA for critical issues

2. SAP BASIS Operations

• Transport Management System (TMS), CTS+ handling across landscapes
• User/role administration, SU53 troubleshooting, and authorization support
• System performance monitoring (ST02/ST03/ST06/SM50/SM66 etc.)
• Manage SSL certificates, SAP Router, Web Dispatcher, and Fiori system configuration
• Manage SAP interfaces, RFC connections, proxies, and system integrations

3. SAP BTP Administration

• Setup and administration of BTP subaccounts, entitlements, service instances
• Manage environments including Cloud Foundry, Kyma, ABAP Environment
• Manage Cloud Connector, destinations, trust configurations (IAS/IPS), OAuth/SAML
• Enable and support BTP services:
• Integration Suite (CPI)
• API Management
• Workflow & Business Rules
• BAS, Launchpad Service
• Document Management, Mobile Services
• Monitor BTP logs, performance, auditing, and cost optimization

4. BTP Integration & Extensions

• Configure and support SAP CPI:
• iFlow creation, error handling, adapter configuration
• Security artifacts, certificate management
• API Management: API proxies, policies, governance
• Support SAP extensions using CAP, RAP, Node.js, Java (basic familiarity)
• Build or support side-by-side extensions for S/4HANA using BTP services

5. Cloud & Infrastructure

• Experience working with SAP on Azure/AWS/GCP/RISE landscapes
• Manage networking, load balancers, VPN, firewalls (coordination with infra teams)
• Experience with Solution Manager/Focused Run for monitoring and CHARM

Technical Skills

• Strong SAP Basis administration for both ABAP & Java stacks
• Expertise in HANA database administration & performance tuning
• Experience in S/4HANA installations, upgrades, and conversions
• Hands-on experience in SAP BTP & Integration Suite (CPI)
• Strong knowledge of RFC/OData/REST/SOAP integrations
• Experience with SAP cloud deployments (Azure/AWS/GCP/RISE)

Key Soft Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently on critical issues & complex landscapes
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments preferred

Preferred Certifications

• SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP Basis / HANA)
• SAP BTP Certification – Integration Suite / Extension Suite
• Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP) are an advantage
