Job Title: SAP MDG Consultant – Phase 2 Rollout
Experience: 5–10 Years

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP MDG Consultant to join an ongoing SAP MDG implementation and lead activities for Phase 2 rollout. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, handle client interactions as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC), and support governance, modeling, and rollout activities across multiple master data domains including Material, Customer, Supplier, and Finance master data.
The ideal candidate will have strong functional MDG expertise, hands-on experience with custom master data objects, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
SAP MDG Implementation & Rollout (Phase 2)
- Participate actively in Phase 2 rollout of an in-progress SAP MDG implementation.
- Support enhancement, extension, and stabilization of existing MDG solution.
- Work with business teams to gather requirements, analyze gaps, and propose MDG solutions.
- Support country / business unit rollouts, including configuration adjustments and data readiness.
Master Data Domains
- Strong functional understanding and hands-on experience in:
- Material Master Data
- Customer Master Data
- Supplier / Vendor Master Data
- Finance Master Data (e.g., GL, Cost Center, Profit Center basics)
- Design and support governance processes including:
- Change Request Types
- Workflow steps
- Validation & Derivation rules
- Ensure data consistency, quality, and governance across domains.
Custom Master Data Objects
- Hands-on experience with custom master data objects in SAP MDG.
- Support modeling, governance, and lifecycle management of custom objects.
- Coordinate with technical teams for enhancements related to custom objects.
Business & Client Interaction
- Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the client on MDG-related topics.
- Lead discussions with business users and stakeholders.
- Handle client questions, clarifications, and issue resolution effectively.
- Translate business requirements into MDG functional design.
- Support UAT, business sign-offs, and defect resolution.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with functional, technical, and BASIS teams.
- Support testing cycles, cutover activities, and go-live readiness.
- Provide post-go-live support and knowledge transfer.
- Prepare documentation including:
- Functional specifications
- Business process flows
- User guides and training materials
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG)
- Strong hands-on experience across Material, Customer, Supplier, and Finance master data
- Proven experience with custom MDG data objects
- Experience working on MDG implementation and rollout projects
- Solid understanding of MDG:
- Data Models
- Change Requests
- Workflows
- Validations & Derivations
- Experience interacting directly with business and client stakeholders
Soft Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong customer-facing experience
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Comfortable working as a client-facing SPOC
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA MDG
- Exposure to data migration, replication, or integration scenarios
- Experience in global rollout programs
- Prior experience in contractual or long-term engagement setups
