Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Security Consultant with 5–7 years of hands-on experience in SAP Security, specializing in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining security roles and authorizations, managing Fiori security, and ensuring compliance with governance and audit requirements across SAP landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
SAP MDG Security
- Design, build, and maintain SAP MDG security roles and authorizations for data models such as Business Partner, Material, Customer, Supplier, etc.
- Implement and support MDG-specific authorization objects related to:
- Change Request types
- Workflow steps
- Data modeling and governance processes
- Ensure secure access for MDG staging, active areas, and data replication scenarios.
- Collaborate with MDG functional and technical teams to align security with business processes.
Roles & Authorizations
- Design and maintain PFCG roles (Single, Composite, Derived roles).
- Perform end-to-end role lifecycle management including:
- Role design
- Authorization concept definition
- User provisioning
- Role remediation and optimization
- Conduct SoD (Segregation of Duties) analysis and remediation using GRC or manual controls (if applicable).
- Support audit and compliance requirements, including documentation and evidence preparation.
SAP Fiori & UI Security
- Design and manage SAP Fiori security roles including:
- Catalogs
- Groups
- Spaces and Pages
- Configure OData service authorizations and Fiori Launchpad access.
- Ensure proper integration between Fiori, MDG, and backend ECC/S/4HANA systems.
- Troubleshoot Fiori authorization issues using tools like SU53, STAUTHTRACE.
User & System Administration
- Handle user administration, access requests, and emergency access support.
- Perform user role assignments, access reviews, and periodic cleanup.
- Analyze and resolve authorization errors and access issues.
- Provide security support during enhancements, upgrades, and rollouts.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with functional, BASIS, and development teams.
- Participate in design discussions, security workshops, and project implementations.
- Provide security guidance and best practices.
- Prepare and maintain security-related documentation and SOPs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in SAP Security and Authorizations
- Strong experience with SAP MDG security concepts
- Solid understanding of:
- PFCG role design
- Authorization objects
- User administration
- Proven experience with SAP Fiori security (Catalogs, Groups, OData services)
- Hands-on experience with ECC or S/4HANA environments
- Expertise in troubleshooting using SU53, ST01 / STAUTHTRACE
- Understanding of workflow-based authorization concepts in MDG
- Experience in audit and compliance support
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP GRC Access Control
- Exposure to S/4HANA MDG implementations
- Knowledge of CUP (Central User Administration) or IDM
- SAP Security / MDG certification (desired)
