Job description:

Key Responsibilities
- Industrial Control Systems Design: Develop and maintain industrial control systems and OT solutions adhering to GAMP 5 guidelines, including comprehensive technical specifications and validation support documentation that ensure GxP compliance for biopharmaceutical R&D environments.
- PLC & SCADA/HMI Development: Design and implement advanced PLC programming using structured programming languages (STL/FBD/Ladder) and develop sophisticated SCADA/HMI applications that optimize operator interaction and process monitoring.
- Data Exchange & Protocol Implementation: Implement secure and reliable data exchange solutions utilizing industry-standard communication protocols (OPC DA/UA, MODBUS, Ethernet/IP, Profinet) to enable real-time system integration and interoperability.
- Hardware Commissioning & Troubleshooting: Commission physical hardware components, configure PLC and I/O systems, establish communication protocols, and resolve technical issues to ensure reliable system performance.
- Solution Demonstrations & Documentation: Present technical solutions and proof-of-concept implementations to stakeholders; create clear, comprehensive technical documentation that supports validation and compliance requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product owners, solution architects, and global stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions; participate actively in Agile/Nexus framework ceremonies and practices.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, Electrical ,Automation, or a related technical field
Experience - 7+ years of hands-on experience developing Industrial Control Systems and OT technologies in production or R&D environments
- Proven track record in PLC programming and SCADA/HMI development specifically within R&D or laboratory automation contexts
- Demonstrated expertise in commissioning and troubleshooting physical automation systems
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in structured programming (STL/FBD/Ladder) and object-oriented programming principles
- Advanced expertise with at least one industrial PLC development platform: Siemens TIA Portal, CODESYS, or Rockwell Studio
- Strong experience with SCADA/HMI platforms: Siemens WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Ignition, or iFix
- Hands-on knowledge of industrial communication protocols: OPC DA/UA, MODBUS, Ethernet/IP, and Profinet
- Practical experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) solutions such as Delta-V or Siemens PCS
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and .NET framework
- Demonstrated ability to design intuitive user interfaces and create rapid prototypes
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), and I/O lists for system design and integration
- Ability to interpret and work with engineering documentation including electrical schematics, instrumentation diagrams, and control logic specifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal and Siemens WinCC
- Practical experience implementing Module Type Package (MTP) standards
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and WebSocket solutions for industrial applications
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and version control systems (GitHub)
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform or Ansible
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines optimized for industrial automation systems
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies: Docker and containerization
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus
- Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Java, or other modern backend technologies
- Knowledge of ISA-88, ISA-95, or ISA-99 standards
- Understanding of GAMP 5, FDA guidelines, and regulated software development lifecycle practices
- Proven experience working in Agile methodologies and Nexus framework environments
- Exposure to AI/ML solutions and ability to incorporate them into SDLC workflows
