Job Description
Must have total 12+ yrs. in IT and 3+ years' experience working as a DBT Data Architect and 8+ years in Data warehouse, ETL, BI projects. Should have Strong written and communication skills. He/She should be able to designs, implements, and maintains data architecture solutions using DBT.
should be able to play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data transformation processes using DBT (Data Build Tool). Expected to work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that data pipelines and models are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business goals. This role involves both technical expertise and the ability to understand and address the data requirements of various teams within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
DBT Development: Design, develop, and maintain DBT models, transformations, and SQL code to build efficient data pipelines for analytics and reporting.
Data Modeling: Define and implement data modeling best practices, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and data transformations using DBT.
Data Governance: Establish data governance practices and ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency within the data transformation process.
Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand and meet data requirements for various business units.
Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data transformation processes and optimize DBT models for faster query performance.
Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of DBT models, transformations, and data dictionaries to ensure transparency and accessibility to team members.
Security: Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information and comply with data privacy regulations.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and new features in DBT, and continuously improve the data transformation processes.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to other team members in using DBT effectively.
POC : Must be able to plan and execute POCs relevant to DBT.
Required Technical Competencies
Solution Design:
- Manages solution design projects, ensures best practices are being followed.
- Able to develops solution designs for complex solutions.
Emerging Technologies:
- Manages emerging technology projects, ensures best practices are being followed.
- Develops and implements emerging technology strategies that support the organization's strategic objectives.
Architecture tools and frameworks:
- Familiarity with industry tools and frameworks and ability to analyse and use them based on customer requirements.
- Work with SMEs to explore new tools and frameworks for implementation.
Architecture Concepts and Principles:
- Provides deep subject matter expertise, advice for the program delivery.
- Contributes to the development of new techniques and plans within area of expertise.
- Establish Architectural principles & patterns.
- Conduct technical & design reviews.
- Use advanced tools to capture and analyse system / technical issues.
Technology/Product Knowledge:
- Implement code or configure/customize products, drive adoption of industry standards and practices, and contribute to development of reusable assets and innovative solutions.
- Work on complex modules independently.
- Analyse various frameworks/tools and present recommendations, contribute to development of training and certification material, and demonstrate thought leadership through whitepapers and webinars.
Application Design:
- Mastery of design principles and performance engineering concepts
- Lead design efforts, creating a design strategy, and establishing design principles and guidelines while maintaining the design standards and best practices.
- Identify and mitigate design risks, proactively anticipate issues, and recommend corrective steps.
- Innovate and bring in new design ideas, improve existing design processes, and tools.
Estimation and Resource Planning:
- Good Understanding of estimation and resource planning techniques, such as the WBS model.
- Identify the resources required to complete a task and use appropriate estimation models for low to medium complexity scenarios.
