Job Overview:

BNY Mellon is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our innovative team in Pune. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL and Apache Spark, with a keen ability to design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and data architectures. This role is vital in helping us leverage data to drive insights and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Apache Spark and SQL.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and provide necessary datasets.
• Optimize and query large datasets for performance and efficiency.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
• Implement best practices in data management, including data governance and security.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly.

Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on SQL and data processing frameworks like Apache Spark.
• Proficient in database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and best practices.
• Understanding of Python, Scala, or Java for data manipulation and processing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
