IT/OT Integration & IoT Project Specialist - Cement Industry Job

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT/OT Integration & IoT Project Specialist with strong expertise in industrial connectivity, IoT systems, and backend data integration within the cement manufacturing domain. The candidate will play a key role in enabling seamless sensor-to-cloud data flow, managing IT/OT integration projects, and ensuring smooth communication between plant-level systems and corporate cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support end-to-end IT/OT architecture for plant connectivity, ensuring reliable communication between IoT devices, edge gateways, and cloud platforms.
• Define and maintain system integration principles for on-premise, hybrid, and cloud-based applications.

• Manage industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, and REST APIs.
• Work with data payloads and schemas to ensure efficient and secure data transfer via both wired and wireless networks.

• Collaborate with sensor and automation vendors for installation, configuration, and onboarding of vibration sensors, lubricators, and other IoT-enabled condition-monitoring devices.
• Coordinate with plant teams for device testing, data validation, and troubleshooting.

• Work with backend development teams using Python, Node.js, and RESTful API frameworks for data ingestion and processing.
• Manage database systems (SQL, NoSQL, or time-series databases) for IoT data storage and retrieval.
• Integrate sensor data with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) for visualization, analytics, and anomaly detection.

• Lead IoT enablement projects across global cement plants, from requirement gathering to implementation and testing.
• Coordinate between corporate IT/OT teams, vendors, and site engineers to ensure smooth execution.

• Diagnose issues related to network, firmware, or data synchronization, and suggest technical improvements.
• Ensure data consistency and uptime across all integrated devices and systems.

• Prepare dashboards, technical presentations, and status reports for management visibility and decision-making.
• Present integration progress, sensor data insights, and architecture improvements to top management.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and network distribution (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/Industrial Ethernet).
• Proficiency in Python and Node.js for backend integration and automation scripting.
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or InfluxDB) and API development.
• Working knowledge of MQTT payloads, OPC-UA, and industrial communication protocols.
• Hands-on experience with IoT cloud services such as Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, or GCP IoT.
• Familiarity with cement industry processes and rotating equipment (mills, kilns, compressors).
• Knowledge of sensor technologies such as vibration, ultrasound, and lubrication sensors.
• Understanding of cybersecurity practices in industrial environments.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong presentation abilities for executive and cross-functional discussions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related fields.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in IoT, Industrial Automation, or IT/OT Integration (cement or process industry preferred).
• Experience in system integration architecture design for multi-plant digital systems.
• Understanding of containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and data visualization tools (Grafana, Power BI).
