About the Role:

We are looking for an IT/OT Software Engineer with strong expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial automation technologies. The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), supporting automation solutions, system integration, and real-time data connectivity across industrial environments.

Experience:

2–4 years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi, etc.).
  • Design, configure, and maintain SCADA applications (Ignition, Wonderware, WinCC, FactoryTalk, etc.).
  • Integrate OT systems with IT applications such as MES, historians, IoT platforms, and enterprise systems.
  • Implement and support industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC-UA, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, MQTT.
  • Perform on-site commissioning, testing, and validation of control systems and automation solutions.
  • Develop dashboards, alarms, HMI screens, and real-time visualization interfaces.
  • Support cybersecurity best practices within OT networks and automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues involving PLCs, sensors, SCADA servers, networks, and databases.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, automation, production, and engineering.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, design specifications, and test reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, or SCADA development.
  • Experienced with major PLC platform like Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Schneider. (If another PLC’s knowledge will be add on)
  • Strong understanding of SCADA development, alarm management, and system deployment.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, OT communication protocols, and control system architecture.
  • Knowledge understanding of the ISA-88 and ISA-95 Standards.
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and basic scripting (Python, VBScript, or similar).
  • Good problem‑solving abilities with experience troubleshooting automation systems.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience with IoT gateways, edge devices, or Industry 4.0 solutions.
  • Understanding of OT cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443).
  • Knowledge of version control (Git), virtualization, or containerization.
  • Knowledge of Aveva PI / OSI-PI, SCADA, MES, PLC/DCS, and network security.
  • Implement cybersecurity, patching, backups, and access controls per IT/OT standards.
  • Establish integration best practices using industry-leading frameworks such as OPC UA, MQTT, and ISA-95.
  • FAT and SAT Experienced.
