Data Warehouse Developer/ Analyst
Job Summary:
Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining a data warehouse to collate and integrate current/historical data from various sources/systems within an organization
The position is responsible for designing, implementation and development and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouse. The requirements of the position include Datawarehouse Maintenance, ETL Development & Support, performance tuning and expertise in dimensional modelling and design.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible to design end to end solutions to cater to business needs of data in Oracle BI Tool stack especially ODI and SQL.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining a data warehouse to collate and integrate current/historical data from various sources/systems within an organization
- Implementing procedures for maintenance, monitoring, backup, and recovery for the data warehouse and related systems
- Expertise in Dimensional Modelling (using Star / Snowflake schema) and drafting High Level and Low Level DWH Design
- Conducting research into new data warehouse applications and determining viability for adoption
- Gathering and analysing data requirements and data flows to other systems
- Developing physical data models to define the database structure
- Optimizing database & ETL performance through efficient Performance Tuning techniques
- Expertise in ODI development (in BIAPPS Environment) & performance tuning of SQL programs.
- Developing data architecture and logical and physical data models
- Developing strategies for data acquisition, archive recovery, and database implementation
- Experience of automating various ETL jobs, failure notification etc
- Managing data migrations/conversions and troubleshooting data processing issues
- Expertise in Data warehousing concepts like SCDs, Dimensional Modelling, Archive strategy, Aggregation, Hierarchy etc and Database concepts like Partitioning, Materialized views etc
- Preparing data verification and testing methods for data/applications loaded into the warehouse to ensure compatibility across different sources
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience working in Data Warehousing , Data Modelling and ETL
- Proficient in OBIA using ODI in BIAPPS environment.
- Exposure to working in other ETL tools like SSIS, Informatica, Synapse
- Ability to work on highly complex problems and provide feasible solutions in time.
- Ability to review and suggest improvements in existing DWH solution.
- Ability to work in a demanding user environment.
- Ability to provide trainings on ETL, DWH and Dimensional modelling.
- Ability to guide and help team members in technical issues.
- Strong Written and Oral communication skills.
- Coordinating among various teams for day to day activity.
- Working with Project Managers for assistance in various project implementations.
- Designing and improving BI processes for Development and Change Management.
- Ready to work in 24*7 environments.
- Good team player
