Job Description:

Experience required: 13+ years

Primary responsibilities of this position would be to:

• Lead CCOE team consisting of FinOps Analyst and CCOE Engineers
• Help to build and mature FinOps & Cloud center of excellence at enterprise level working with Leaders
• Drives Cloud community of practice and influences other teams at org level to adopt best practices on cloud

• Guide the CCOE Engineering team for the following:
  • Design and Implement Cloud Engineering work items using industry best practices
  • Deploy, manage and monitor Azure services, such as Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, Security and PaaS services
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Evaluate and Automate the deployment and management of Azure infrastructure using Terraform, PowerShell, and other Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Assist different teams to adopt new Azure cloud technologies in the environment
  • Creation & deployment of various Azure services & offerings to meet different application development teams’ business needs.
  • Collaborate with Architects & leadership to define and evolve the organization's cloud strategy.
  • Establish and enforce cloud governance policies, ensuring compliance with security, cost, and operational standards.
  • Review cloud recommendations & ensure optimization of Azure resources, including cost and utilization.
  • Provide recommendations for newer & better technologies & processes.
  • Create and manage Key Performance Indicators and related Cloud reports to help business manage Cloud effectively and grow continuously

• Guide the FinOps Analyst team for the following:
  • Create Cloud FinOps Governance framework  
  • Assist with the creation of Cloud FinOps framework, by working with stakeholders and reference industry best practices such as FinOps.org
  • Budget and forecasting. Collaborate with IT and finance team to establish cloud budgets and forecast. Measuring actual spending, build show back or cost allocation reporting as needed.
  • Resource Usage Optimization. Identify opportunities for cost optimization like right sizing, purging and minimize over-provisioning.
  • Cloud Rate Optimization. Optimize Cloud costs by tracking cost plans, Commitment based discounts, and enterprise savings plans
  • Cloud Capacity Management. Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure capacity and demand forecasts monitoring and tracking of cloud capacity & resource mgmt. for all services.
  • Cost Reporting and Visualization. Work with stakeholders to define cloud cost performance KPIs, benchmarking and tracking them.
  • Real-time decision making: Enable real time decision making using FinOps analytics, and managing anomalies effectively.
  • Automation & Optimization. Implement cost optimization and governance process for continuous cost optimization. Leverage automation tools and scripts when applicable.
  • Cross group collaboration and education: Collaborate & liaise among IT and Finance teams, and enable Organizational Alignment

 Required Skills:

• Overall work experience of 13+ years
• 7+ years of Microsoft Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimization
• 7+ years of experience with Cloud technologies, including IaaS and PaaS solutions
• 4+ year’s experience working as Cloud FinOps Analyst or similar experience / role
• 2+ years experience leading FinOps and Cloud engineering teams
• Experience with cloud billing and cost management modules. Good knowledge of forecasting, predicting cost of organizations / Org Units
• Automation and tooling for FinOps analytics. Reporting and cost financial data maintenance and availability management
• Stakeholder management and liaising with multiple verticals
• Experience with cloud cost management tools and services (e.g. Azure Cost Management, Apptio Cloudability). Advanced Excel and analytical skills (developing forecasts & financial reports, pivot tables, charts, and financial calculations)
• Experience in the design and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems
• Strong experience & understanding of Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). -Azure Kubernetes services
• Experience working within an Agile framework, used Jira, Azure DeveOps or similar tools.
• Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of cloud infrastructure.
• PowerShell scripting experience. Proficient with GIT and bitbucket to perform source code management. Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and concepts - Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, Artifactory
• Good understanding of Cloud related best practices and global standards. Knowledge of Security fundamentals in the cloud particularly Azure.
• Understanding of Cloud governance ( tagging, policies, etc) and how it’s implemented on Azure
• Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment by combining analytical rigor and judgment.
• Ability to guide, mentor other cloud engineers and drive CCOE initiatives
• Strong commitment to exceptional customer experience, enthusiasm to drive positive change and persuasive ability.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (ability to present detailed technical analysis, assumptions, and recommendations)

 Preferred Skills:

• Hands on experiences implementing Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) Terraform modules in an enterprise environment.
• Hands on experiences supporting large lift and shift Cloud migrations, and/or application modernization in an enterprise environment.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud computing technologies, services, and best practices. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Should be able to troubleshoot issues pertaining to Azure and services on cloud.
• Strong understanding of security principles and best practices in cloud environments. Any prior experience of networking basics would be a bonus.
• Azure services like Azure functions, Azure PAAS services and comprehensive knowledge on Azure VMs, work flows etc.
• Azure data services like Synapse , data bricks & ADF.
• Power BI and Azure Analytics
• Experience with PowerShell & Terraform
• FinOps
• Cloud Capacity Management
• Tableau would be nice to have skill

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience/​certification
• Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-204 are preferred
  • FinOps Certified Associate from FinOps Foundation
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner from FinOps Foundation - good to have

• FinOps Certified Professional from FinOps Foundation -Good to have
