Talend Tech Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Talend Tech Lead to design, develop, and lead enterprise data integration solutions using the Talend platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of ETL developers, driving data integration initiatives, ensuring data quality, and delivering scalable data pipelines that support business and analytics requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of ETL/ELT solutions using Talend Data Integration and related Talend products.
Manage end-to-end data integration projects, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Architect and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, analysts, and project managers to understand data requirements.
Lead technical reviews, code reviews, and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
Develop and maintain data mapping, transformation logic, workflows, and technical documentation.
Implement data quality, data governance, and data validation processes.
Monitor ETL jobs and troubleshoot production issues to ensure smooth operations.
Mentor and guide junior developers and provide technical leadership to the team.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams for system integrations, cloud migrations, and data modernization initiatives.
Participate in effort estimation, project planning, and resource allocation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in Data Integration/ETL development.
4+ years of hands-on experience with Talend Data Integration (DI), Talend Big Data, and Talend Administration Center (TAC).
Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
Experience with Talend components including:
- tMap
- tJoin
- tAggregateRow
- tFileInput/Output
- tDBInput/Output
- tRESTClient
- tJava/tJavaRow
Strong understanding of data migration, data transformation, and data quality frameworks.
Experience with version control tools such as Git, SVN, or Bitbucket.
Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, or other modern data platforms.
Knowledge of Talend Cloud and API Integration.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Exposure to data governance and master data management (MDM) concepts
