Job description:

Experience required: 3-5 years.

Key Skills Expected

• Core Database & SQL Fundamentals (Must Have)
• Candidates are expected to be strong in fundamentals, not just theory.
  
• Clear understanding of database concepts
• Normalization (why, when, and trade offs)
• Joins (inner, left/right, filtering correctly)
• Ability to write correct SQL queries for business scenarios
  

Power BI – Strong Hands On Expertise (Critical)

• This is a primary evaluation area.
  
  

Expected capabilities:

• Data modeling (fact vs dimension tables)
• Building visuals confidently
• Understanding Power BI service vs desktop
  
  

Practical usage of:

• Row Level Security (RLS)
• Bookmarks
• Filters (visual / page / report level)
• Ability to explain how a requirement is implemented, not just what a feature is
  

Practical Problem Solving & Application Skills

• Across interviews, questions focused on real scenarios, not MCQs.
  
  

Examples:

• Implementing RLS based on user roles
• Extracting values dynamically (e.g., username from file paths)
• Writing SQL / DAX logic for given schemas
• Explaining end to end approach, not isolated steps
  
  

Data Modeling & Reporting Mindset

• Candidates are expected to:
• Think in terms of business reporting
• Understand historical vs incremental data
• Explain how reports scale (performance, refresh strategy)
• Handle real world data structures
  
  

Communication & Explanation Clarity

• Beyond technical correctness, we expect:
• Clear explanation of thought process
• Ability to walk through logic step by step
• Confidence in explaining why a solution works
