Automation Test Engineer

• The Automation Test Engineer works closely with product teams to ensure that software products and features meet high quality standards.
• The role is involved throughout the software development lifecycle, with a strong focus on quality assurance, test automation, and continuous improvement. As the organization continues to embrace shift-left testing and quality engineering practices, the role is expected to evolve from traditional QA responsibilities toward a more development-oriented Quality Engineering position.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business and functional requirements and develop automated test scripts.
• Execute automated and manual test cases, identify defects, and verify their resolution.
• Follow QA processes, coding standards, and best practices.
• Monitor UI automation execution results and scheduled test jobs.
• Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing automation frameworks and test suites.
• Improve test coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency through automation.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure quality is built into the development process.
• Contribute to automation framework design and support DevOps and CI/CD initiatives.
• Progressively take ownership of development-oriented quality engineering activities, including framework development, test tooling, and automation architecture.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong programming skills in Java.
• Experience with BDD Frameworks, Page Object Model (POM), and Selenium with Cucumber.
• Hands-on experience in UI and API Testing.
• Experience with Postman, Swagger, and SQL Server.
• Experience with Playwright automation and webdriver IO
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Team-player attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Interest in expanding from QA automation into broader software development and quality engineering responsibilities.
• Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering required. 3.5-5 years experience required.
