Experience
Experience: 7 - 10 Years
We are seeking an experienced JD Edwards (JDE WorldSoft) Consultant with strong expertise in upgrade and migration projects, specifically involving JDE WorldSoft A8.1 to A9.4 upgrades and cloud (Azure) migration. The role involves executing lift-and-shift migrations, database transitions, and technical upgrades, ensuring a seamless transition to modern cloud environments.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
JDE Upgrade & Migration Execution
- Lead and execute JDE WorldSoft upgrades from A8.1 to A9.4 using standard methodologies.
- Perform Lift & Shift migration of JDE applications and DB2 databases to Azure cloud environments.
- Execute upgrade utilities, scripts, and data model transformations during upgrade cycles.
2. Discovery & Assessment
- Analyze existing JDE landscape including:
- Modules, custom objects, UBEs, security, menus, integrations.
- Conduct data assessment (DB2 schemas, volumes, data quality) and define migration strategy.
- Prepare migration runbooks, rollback strategies, and cutover plans.
3. Environment Setup & Configuration
- Install and configure:
- JDE WorldSoft environments
- DB2 database instances
- Perform baseline technical configurations (pathcodes, environments, queues, printers).
4. Testing & Validation
- Conduct:
- Technical smoke testing
- Pre- and post-upgrade validation
- Support data reconciliation and discrepancy analysis.
- Coordinate with business teams for UAT readiness and sign-offs.
5. Cutover & Go-Live Support
- Execute cutover activities and migration runbook.
- Perform final validations and support go-live transition to JDE A9.4 on Azure.
- Provide knowledge transfer and documentation post-deployment.
6. Risk Management & Troubleshooting
- Identify and mitigate risks related to:
- Data inconsistency
- Upgrade regressions
- Integration failures
- Cloud performance issues
Perform root cause analysis and issue resolution during migration lifecycle
Required Technical/ Functional Competencies
Required Skills:

- Strong experience in:
- JD Edwards WorldSoft (A8.1, A9.4)
- JDE upgrades and patching
- Hands-on expertise in:
- DB2 database administration & migration
- JDE UBEs, batch jobs, and system configuration
- Experience with:
- Azure cloud infrastructure (IaaS)
- Linux (preferably Red Hat) environment setup
- Understanding of:
- JDE security, menus, and integrations
Functional & Analytical Skills
- Strong understanding of JDE data structures and business flows
- Ability to perform data validation and reconciliation
- Experience with migration planning, runbooks, and cutover strategies
Preffered Qualifications:
- Experience in large-scale ERP cloud migration projects
- Exposure to integration validation and interface migration
- Prior experience in financial services or enterprise environments
